More about the Artist

Born 1952 in Gorey, Bruce Copeland was raised on a farm in a picturesque setting and close to the village of Clough.

The love of art has been continuous from a child. Work has necessitated much travel throughout Ireland and Europe and has moulded his style.

The time not taken up actively directing his own marketing company  is happily spent  in his garden, walking locally, playing bowls at Aughrim, writing short stories and painting at his Tinahely studio on School Road.  Bruce works chiefly with oils and acrylics on canvas creating abstract, landscape and theme pieces. Look out for the GBC initials on all pieces.

The paintings derive from memories of a happy hard working farm family up-bringing with great neighbours and togetherness as a child, from experiences in work and travel, spiritual moments and the enjoyment of community and the beautiful scenery and private places of North Wexford, Carlow and Co Wicklow, which is his home with Olivia for several years.  Bruce is proud to be a fellow of the Irish Hospitality Institute, a member of Tinahely Art Group, Tinahely Writers Group, Aughrim Bowl Club, Gorey Rugby Club  and the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
